settle in coats off and offer a drink and breakfast if required.
9.00-10.00-get
our minds working with some puzzles discover play, imaginative
play. Dependent on age this would involve wooded block puzzles,
jigsaws, block building, Lego, dressing up and make believe
games, shape sorting and problem solving.
10.00-10.30-
wind down with some stories and reading books.
10.30-11.30--sleep/nap
time. We try to encourage all children to take two naps a day or
just some down time. This enables the mind and bodies re charge
and recover for the next play session
11.30-12.30-wide
awake time we have a music session before lunch with singing and
hand held instruments. Children are encouraged to join in with
the actions and the rhythm of the songs. Music is essential for
healthy brain development and has been know to aid your Childs
mathematical development.
12.30-1.30-
lunch time. Children are required to sit at the table and a
healthy home-prepared lunch will be served with water or fruit
juice and a dessert to follow.
1.30-2.30-
out side play. Messy play. Creative play. We take a walk to the
park or play in the garden. Have a look at flowers, feed ducks,
and collect leaves and twigs.
2.30-3.00-
down time. We talk about what we have just done read a story
listen to an audio story.
3.00-4.30-
nap time
4.30-5.30-
teatime. A light tea of sandwiches fruit yogurt vegetables and
fruit juice and water is served.
5.30-6.00-
listen to music, play games, sing songs until collected.
The above gives just an indication
of a typical day. The day will vary with weather, amount of
children, and, age of children. We attend a playgroup on
Wednesday mornings; this could be incorporated into the day if
suitable. I try to include a variation of learning opportunities
into the day. Focusing on the ability and age of the child
whilst always incorporating numbers, letters and imaginative
